Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Accountable for the performance, training and equipping of all subordinate personnel on assigned shift; responsible to enforce all disciplinary actions on assigned shift
- Responsible for the performance of all injection molding machines on assigned shift
- Oversee the operations of all machines during assigned shift
- Coordinate production, distribution, and warehousing in accordance with policies, principles and procedures
- Confer with other management personnel to establish production and quality control standards. Obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and production completion for production items scheduled
- Assist in the development of procedures for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees
- Confer with other shift supervisors and lead supervisor to coordinate activities of individual shifts and with other departments
- Requisition tooling repairs and changeovers as needed
- Review and analyze production, quality control maintenance and operation reports to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications or operating or production problems
- Revise production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure, operating problems or a change in production priorities; assist other employees in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment
- Compile, store and retrieve production data
- Perform or assist with mold setups, material handling or quality control duties as needed; fulfill responsibilities of subordinate personnel in their absence
- Schedule, organize and oversee the activities of all subordinates
- Continually teach and enforce safety rules; take charge in case of any medical emergencies involving personnel on the shift
- Prepare subordinate’s reviews in coordination with the Director of Manufacturing
- May be required to fulfill certain responsibilities of the Director of Manufacturing during absences or other times of need
- Coordinate temporary personnel needs to the Production Manager
- Change in shift assignment on a temporary basis, as needed, is at management discretion; other duties as assigned by the Director of Manufacturing
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED or 12 years formal education
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Injection Molding and troubleshooting
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Must be able to read, write and take instructions in English
- Must be computer literate
