Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot molding machines to bring parts into specifications for size, appearance, flash, splay, cycle time, etc.
• Develop and maintain standard operator instructions and process set-up sheets
• Help develop and train set-up technicians, process technicians, and molding operators
• Assist in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment
• Analyze each running mold, along with secondary operations performed in the molding department, for proper efficiencies and safety
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement with molds, presses, changeovers, etc.
• Qualify molds and secondary machines for existing product as needed
• Process a variety of materials, including, but not limited to: ABS, PC, PP, Noryl, Flame Retardant ABS, and Flame Retardant PC Valox
• Participate in developing action plans to resolve problems with safety, quality, production, delivery and 5S
• Prepare maintenance work orders and ensure compliance with Preventative Maintenance
• Drive productivity improvements through SMED and TQM activities

Education and Experience

• 2-year Technical College or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 5-7 years experience in hands-on plastic processing of injection molding machines
• Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Strong plastic processing skills
• Computer literate (Excel, Outlook, Word and ERP experience)
• Basic management skills
• Problem solving techniques
• Strong organizational skills
